Reunion
On March 24th, fifty-three
past and present residents of Carbondale Area met at the Plaza Resort
and Spa in Daytona Beach Florida to share remembrances and to catch
up on the new plans for the city.
The activities began with a wine and cheese reception hosted by Mayor Justin Taylor. Mayor Taylor told the attendees about the plans and activities on tap to revitalize the downtown area. The Mayor showed a marketing video produced to entice businesses and individuals to make Carbondale their home.
The reception was followed by a sumptuous dinner overlooking the beach. Bob Kelly presented Mayor Taylor with a "Key to the City of Daytona Beach" on behalf of his brother, past Daytona Beach Mayor and former Carbondale resident Paul Kelly, who was unable to attend. Friendships were renewed and new ones were made throughout the evening.
